Organize Your Kitchen for a Busy Season

So…..where do you start?

  • Clean our your freezer and pantry
  • Take an inventory of your freezer and pantry
  • Make a list of easy meals.…with a grocery list
  • Stock up on basic items
  • Do some freezer prep

Clean out your freezer and pantry

That’s right….get in there. Get rid of anything that is too old or that you know will not get used. Let’s start with a clean slate….or at least a freezer and pantry with things that you know your family likes and will enjoy

Take an inventory of your freezer and pantry

Now that you have removed everything that is just taking up space….write down what you have.

Make a list of easy meals

Have a list of easy meals ready. Make a grocery list as well so that you can easily send someone to the store or plug the items into your favorite grocery store online pick up ordering system.

Stock up on basic items

Look at your list of easy meals and stock up on the non perishable ingredients that you can store in your pantry and the ingredients that can be kept in your freezer. I also like to have some freeze dried options available.

Do some freezer prep

Are there ingredients that you can prep ahead and keep in the freezer to make some of your meals easier to prepare? I often think of precooked taco meat and precooked shredded chicken.
